STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The Director of Early Intervention and Children’s Enrichment plans, organizes, and supervises the activities of the Early Intervention- Birth to 3 program, as well as the Children’s Enrichment programs for children 0-5 years old. Director of Early Intervention and Children’s Enrichment performs all duties under the supervision of the Vice President of Clinical Service Enterprise.

SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Effectively plan and provide Early Intervention, developmental vision therapy services for children, 0-3 years old, including direct service
• Provide effective guidance/leadership/support to EI and Children’s Enrichment program staff and partners to support high quality service provision
• Maintain open and effective communication with all partners to ensure the effective growth and execution of all programs
• Ensure department compliance with all regulatory requirements of Early Intervention service providers
• Track and monitor referrals and assignments for timely service delivery
• Maintain student records in order to support identification, billing, and transition in and out of Early Intervention according to agency records retention and state requirements
• Plan, develop, organize and supervise the delivery of enrichment program curricula;
• Monitor program outcomes and Evaluate program effectiveness in meeting child and family needs;
• Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate program staff; supervise university student interns;
• Participate in annual IFSP meetings for all assigned students on caseload
• Assist with the transition process for children aging out of the EI program
• Supervise the utilization, safety, and maintenance of Enrichment Program space and equipment;
• Maintain records and write reports in compliance with agency requirements; contracts, and funding sources;
• Collaborate with other program managers regarding contract requirements;
• Develop and implement annualized program goals relevant to the agency’s strategic initiatives
• Prepare budget information for program activities;
• Responsible for controlling direct budgeted expenses;
• Maintain an active interest and participate in the professional field at all levels; analyze trends or innovations in the field and integrate into program, when appropriate;
• Supervise and collaborate with consultants and specialists regarding professional services to the program;
• Present agency programs to a variety of community or professional groups;
• Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Clinical Service.

SPECIFICATIONS:

• Master’s Degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Visual Impairments
• IL Early Intervention Certification as a Developmental Vision Therapist required
• IL Early Intervention Evaluation Certification as a Developmental Vision Therapist preferred
• CPR Certification preferred
• 3 years Program management experience preferred
• 3 years supervisory experience preferred
• Knowledge and experience with the grant writing process preferred
