Snyk is a developer-first application security company focused on helping developers find bugs that will become security issues as early in the development lifecycle as possible. As the breadth of our offerings has expanded, we have been on a journey to move from a suite of products to a deeply integrated platform with a rich and consistent experience which can pull together intelligence from multiple products.

The role of VP, Engineering, Product Infrastructure is at the center of this journey – helping to build common experiences and primitives on top of which our best-in-class products can rest. In this role you’ll be responsible for:

• Building the key primitives that provide a consistent experience across our products – including billing, the core workflow engine, our integrations with Source Control Management systems. You will also identify places that we must present a consistent experience across products and ensure we begin engineering programs to standardize on single implementations of those elements.
• Working to seamlessly blend the data from our products into a single experience at the UI and API layer, all while grounding these findings in deep context about why they are important, coming from our AppRisk product and connected to education in our Learn product.
• Driving execution of our vision to help become a Developer governance platform which allows security and platform engineering to influence developers to build better code by putting the right information in front of them, and enabling them to add programmatic guardrails to ensure that standards are met. This is critical cross-functional work that you’ll achieve through collaboration with the other Division leads.
• Helping the platform to become useful to Platform Engineering users by understanding their governance needs and owning new products focused on the Platform Engineering persona.
• Paying meticulous attention to the details – ensuring that we have excellent project plans for our most important cross-functional efforts and that we execute well against them. Intervening when technical programs are off-track to ensure that they deliver.

This role is based in our Boston, MA hub where we are looking to considerably expand our engineering presence. You will be a key driver of this expansion as the engineering leader with the largest local presence.

What You’ll Need:

• The interest and technical skills to build a deep understanding of the Snyk stack, and how it serves the needs of developers. The VP, Engineering must be able to dive arbitrarily deep when required and work directly with the teams on understanding their key technical challenges, and helping them to find a path forward.
• Proven experience managing an organization of 150+, with focus on systematically developing our key talent, running the rewards system and setting consistent standards across the team.
• Strong ability to drive execution by ensuring that key programs have strong cross-functional plans, and that those plans are well executed.
• The ability to build long-term strategy for the organization, spanning both the key customer needs, and strategic functional evolution of the product, in addition to the key non-functional requirements of the product (reliability, scale, supportability, maintainability). You will also ensure that this long-term strategy is operationalized by near-term milestones, and clearly present this progress to the organization and senior leadership.
