Position Title: Worship Leader

Primary Objective (Basic Purpose):

To lead and coordinate a multi-faceted worship ministry to help our congregation fulfill our mission to Make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly .

Primary Duties (What activities are done to accomplish the objective):

  1. Live a life in agreement with the Grace Church Leadership Covenant.
  2. Along with the Lead Pastor, plan worship experiences that include both traditional hymns and contemporary worshp music.
  3. Lead and coordinate worship for weekly services and special events (i.e. Christmas Eve Services, Holy Week services, etc.).
  • Recruit, develop, and deploy musicians for all worship services.
  • Lead, direct, and coach our praise teams as they plan and deliver worship for their respective services.
  • Consult and provide expertise, as requested, for worship technology.
  1. Attend and participate in weekly Staff Meetings of the Grace Church Staff.
  2. Attend regular worship services at Grace Church, as well as special services such as Holy Week and Christmas Eve Services.

Required Education and Experience:

  1. Committed Christian with the same basic philosophy of ministry and theology as Grace Church.
  2. A passion for personal worship and for leading worship in a church.
  3. Demonstrated ability in leading praise/worship teams.
  • Skilled in playing a musical instrument, preferably guitar or piano.
  • Familiarity with sound/multi-media equipment and ability to leverage it to enhance the worship experience.
  1. Strong people skills and a team player.
  2. A servant’s heart for ministry and a deep desire to see people come to Christ and grow in their faith.
  3. Ability to disciple/mentor worship servants.
  4. Ability to conduct all financial, personal and church matters with confidentiality.

Accountability:

  1. Directly accountable to the Lead Pastor for supervision.
  2. Salary will be reviewed annually by the Leadership Team and submitted as part of the personnel section of the church budget for adoption.
  3. Any grievances or concerns should be shared with the Lead Pastor.

Classification:

  1. This is a half-time, salaried position, with an expectation of 20 hours per week.
